August 2008 Tim claimed his second Olympic Medal from Beijing and his third in his career today when he added a Bronze Medal in the K1 500m to the K1 1000m Gold that he won yesterday at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Lake. After a slow start Tim worked his way back into the race and in the last 100m both Tim and Ken Wallace of Australia drew up to the early leader Adam van Koeverden of Canada. At shortly after 8.30am on 22nd August 2008 Tim Brabants powered to his first ever Olympic gold medal in the final of the Men's K1 1,000m in Beijing. Tim dominated the race from start to finish crossing the line in a time of 3mins 26.323 seconds, banishing the disappointment of Athens four years ago and delivering Great Britain's first ever canoeing Olympic gold medal and the team's 18th of the games. 22nd August 2008 I am now in Beijing for the Olympic Games.
