This morning I won the K1 1000m at the European Championships in Milan. It was a very close race with a Hungarian in lane 9 (yes I did see him there for all those who were asking!). I have won races from lane 9 in the past so I know to keep an eye out for all lanes! Pleased with the way I raced given the hard training I have been doing up until last Sunday. Disappointed with my 500 semi yesterday, I simply didn't feel powerful at all for some reason, which after a bad start means I am in the B final tomorrow. Rest of the team is doing really well and looks like I won't be the only male athlete going to Beijing for GB!

 

Today I go to Milan for the European Championships. These are early in the season compared to normal as it is also the second Olympic qualification regatta where we hope to qualify some more British athletes for Beijing.
